By tachi1 If you have a mailing list in the hundreds, anything that shaves a little bit of time on the boring and repetitive parts of the project is very welcome. This new "easy peel" design couldn't be easier to use. You just bend the column every so slightly and you get an easy to grab edge that allows you to peel off each label without having to grab a corner by nudging with your fingernail, over and over again--even after going through the heat of a laser printer. I have found them to feed through smoothly (only one sheet at a time), not get jammed, not have one of the label corners accidentally adhere to the roller or feed dogs of the printer (yes, this has happened to me and it's a nightmare I'm glad to be able to put behind me). They work like a charm.NOTE TO AVERY:As much as I have loved these labels, I STILL have a slight objection. It has nothing to do with either quality, functionality, or design. It has to do with size. These one-inch high labels easily accommodate a three-line address. A four-line address fits. However, if you want to take full advantage of your word processor's capabilities and add a zip bar code line (which really DOES work in getting your mail delivered faster), you can fit it in on the three-line address, but it gets cut off on the four-line address.If you have a longer address structure, you're absolutely doomed. For example: I have several unmarried couples on my list. They each require a line. (Mr. John Smith, Ms. Mary Jones). I also mail some company executives, and this becomes a nightmare:Mr. John Smith, PresidentThe ACME Company1234 Main Street, Suite 5City, State, Zip//////bar code////////.This address does not fit on a 1" label.This makes creating a large mailing a real problem. I print the whole list (800+) in this label, then discard the ones that didn't fit and re-do them manually on label #05163, which are the next size up but, at 2" x 4" they are really to BIG. They just work.If you haven't used this type of product, it's a breeze if you have almost any working version of Microsoft Word, because Word has built-in templates for Avery's various labels. Just open or create a document, type in the address you want on the label, select Mailings/Labels (in Word 2007 - varies by version), tell it that you want to use Avery 5260 labels, and Word knows how to lay out the page and to replicate the text 30 times to fill out a page of identical labels. Or you can give Word a list of addresses from a mailing list and it will lay them out to fit on the Avery product.This appears to be a new generation of Avery's line of labels, with "pop-up edges" to make it

But let the buyer beware of sellers like Pro-Max who charge exorbitant shipping costs (in my case, nearly 6 dollars), and then don't deliver on time. If you want to buy these labels -- and why not? they're good -- just be sure to check out the seller first. Free Software Makes the Labels Work By Paul Moskowitz Our town's energy committee recently had a project for which we needed about 250 peel-off labels. Our plan was to distribute 250 CFL (compact fluorescent) light bulbs free at our town's community day (sort of like a street fair) in order to encourage people to use the bulbs to reduce electricity use. CFL light bulbs can save about 75 percent on electricity over incandescent bulbs. For the 250 bulbs, we calculated that for 8000 hours of use and an electric cost of $0.10/KWh the total savings vs. 100 watt incandescent bulbs for all the bulbs would be about $15,000. There would also be a saving of 94 tons of carbon dioxide emission.Avery Address Labels were a good choice for adding a label indicating the savings for using the bulbs and our committee's name. The question was how to get the information printed on the labels. At the Avery web site, I found free software, DesignPro, which makes it possible to produce label designs for different label sizes. I downloaded the software easily and got started on the designFor the labels, there were about a dozen pre-made templates for the different size labels. I chose the template that matched my labels. Using DesignPro was a little like using PowerPoint. I was able to cut and paste a graphics image, add the appropriate text, and choose a font for the text. A test run on my printer produced a beautiful matrix of labels. The only problem was to find out which side of the label stock had to be up. I can never remember. After an up/down test, I had my sheets of labels printed in no time.Our community day give-away was a big success. Our free light bulbs lasted about four hours. We were able to peel the labels from the printed sheets easily. There was enough time to peel and apply the labels as we gave away the CFLs. One surprise is that we had to have a sales pitch even for give-aways. The other surprise was that many people had never seen CFLs before. Of course, the labels are easy to pill off the sheet, to stick to any reasonably smooth and hard surface thanks to a permanent adhesive, and to remove without leaving residue. The Avery software allows very productive laser and ink jet printing from edge to edge including full color background. One option is to design & print online using thousands of professionally prepared templates without a need for downloading. The other is to produce labels in-house that requires downloading a wizard or blank templates or pre-designed ones for Microsoft Word, Adobe software, or Apple Pages. Both, the wizard and the online option allow mail merge and filling the whole sheet at once resulting in high productivity and low cost of professionally looking labels. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great Labels By Sheri Fogarty I wanted to make some stick on 'buttons' of a modifed logo, that I could wear instead of an actual button as I don't like to stick pins in my clothes.I went to the Avery site to get the template and put our logo into it. I used a small logo and added some print to make what I wanted. The template make everything pretty easy to do. The printing was easy, they suggest one page at a time - so in 10 minutes or so I had all ten sheet printed - and they look beautiful! I can wear them on my jacket or t-shirt and they are sticky enough that I can move them to another shirt but they haven't damaged the material (I'm putting them on cotton - I wouldn't recommend sticking them on a delicate fabric).If you're using them as product labels - the intended purpose - they are great as well. Perfect size for wine labels By Colleen Fleming I purchased this product because I had a few cases of homemade wine that I wanted to create custom labels for. These labels are the perfect size for the bottles and worked out great! The only downside is that the formatting of the templates does not allow you to have images that go all of the way to the edge of the labels, but I made a few modifications and it worked out well. At first, I thought they were just labels. You print them, use them...end of story. But that's not the case. Using the free online Avery software, I was able to design a QR code label. You fill in your link and it creates the code. Seems like those are everywhere lately. Those are the things you can scan with your smart phone. Within a few clicks on the Avery site, I had linked my business website up and created QR code stickers for my catalogs. Now customers can access me with a quick scan of the iPhone, iPod or smart phone. Way cool!I also experimented with the ready made designs on the site and made some product stickers. The possibilities are endless, and I know I'll be re-ordering these labels when I run out. They have great easy peel features too. Just fold back the row and they lift easily. Nice, albeit small, arched and textured labels, but the template support could be better By Ursiform These are nice, but small, labels that are arched at the top and have a nice texture. While they could be used on wine bottles, they are smaller than most wine labels. They should work just fine on smaller bottles. The texture suggests a bit more class than repurposed address labels. While listed as laser printer labels they work just fine with my ink jet printers. If you want to print photos keep in mind that the texture shows through. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to include in the creative process.Avery makes a template available for Word, and only Word. You do need to provide them your name and e-mail address, which seems a bit excessive for downloading a template to use with their labels. But if you fudge a bit on the info you give them, what are they going to do, not spam you?A Word template is fine for some applications, but I wanted to do graphics in CorelDraw. The template is basically a Word table with the outline of the label imbedded in each cell, and doesn't translate well to other formats. Even though I was able to select the label shape and give it a black outline, I couldn't get that to export to a pdf or other format. I had to use screen capture software to create a bitmap of the template that I could use in other programs. Not all the convenient, but it worked. Given that these labels are clearly intended for graphics, Avery could have provided a more useful templateThe labels offer a nice opportunity for classy labeling of bottles or other items. If, however, you wanted to design graphics and make a more elaborate label you will be frustrated by the lack of templates for design software. Templates Need Work By Julie I was really excited about this product as my previous experience with Avery labels and my inkjet printer has been terrific. However the templates for these labels leave a lot to be desired so I'm giving this product an overall 3 stars because the templates are crucial to printing good looking labels, especially when using circles, and they fell short in my opinion.The LabelsThe labels themselves are of excellent quality; nice, thick paper (but not too thick that it jams cycling through a printer). The color for the kraft labels is quite dark. I tried printing light colors, but they washed out on the darkish background. If you printdarker colors and have an inkjet printer with good color saturation, you can achieve some beautiful effects. The labels stick nicely to a variety of surfaces' glass, some plastic, cellophane, paper, cardboard, even metal (I'm not sure how long it will last, but so far so good). So the labels themselves get 5 stars.The TemplatesHere's where I had a lot of trouble. I should mention I'm using a Mac, and tried several different templates with both Pages and MSOffice. I got nearly the same results with both, although using the templates in Pages was a lot easier when handling text and editing the template to for optimal results. The first template I downloaded and printed was way off from the label (yes, I checked my doc settings). I tinkered around with the template until I was able to get the text and design lined up and centered. Hoping it was just that particular template, I downloaded a few other templates from the Avery site but unfortunately, the results were the same: the template design was way off from the circle label when printed. I resorted to making a bunch of copies of the label sheet to use as I monkeyed with the template in order to get everything lined up properly and avoid wasting the label sheets. It was actually easier to create my own template and copy elements from the Avery template onto my own.One other drawback to the templates if you are using the kraft color labels is that many of the templates have a colored background which don't print nicely on the kraft color template. They do make the labels in white and other shapes and I suspect the non-circular shapes are easier to center for printing as it is with other Avery labels. Maybe this is inherent in printing circular labels, but I was really looking forward to getting beautiful circle labels from my inkjet printer without spending an inordinate amount of time to get there. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. It comes with plenty of labels that should last a long time and like that they are permanent stick. They are recycled, so better for our environment.One flaw is that these are a bit darker brown than expected. I thought it would be the shade of sand but it is more like the color of cardboard box, which means that when you try to print vibrant colors they do not print out as hoped for. All the colors are diluted and mixed with brown. Exceptionally useful and attractive By tachi1 For the simple quality of being square this label seems, automatically, more elegant.The 2" x 2" size is perfect for printing an attractive label that includes an ornament (or logo) and a few lines of text in a comfortable-sized font. I see that there is a slightly smaller size, but I'm very happy with this particular size and format.Note that the labels are square, with square not rounded corners. Rounded corners would have been nice, too. They are white but, since they print edge-to-edge you could color them. They do take ink well and dry fast. You can start applying them almost as soon as they come out of the printer.I was on the committee for an alumni dinner gala at my son's old school. We used it on the clear party favor bags we had for the ladies to take home after the gala dinner. We were able to print the school logo (which is a long coat-of-arms type design) plus 2 lines of 24 point text in the school colors and still allow for an uncrowded placement. The same label was used in some shopping bags that contained prizes and they "dressed up" the wrapping very well. We also used it on the displays at the silent auction tables to indicate the name of the donor and the starting bid. Someone suggested that it could have been used as name tags for the people in charge of the auction and raffle tickets.Since we wanted to print in color, we used the inkjet printers, but I notice that they could have been run in a laser printer as well, which is good to know.I love the size and shape. I love that they are easy to remove from the backing, that the adhesive works well, that the corners lie flat, and that they feed into the printer smoothly and without jamming.My only wish is that they were slightly glossy (or less flat). A little gloss effect would have made them just a little more dressy and they would have soaked up less ink. The package contains 10 sheets of labels with 12 labels on each sheet (120 total labels).My only concern with this product is the templates. Avery has web-based software to create and print your labels, but that is very clunky if you are printing several different designs.Avery also has a Microsoft Word template that you can download, which is great if you are using Microsoft Word (or a compatible word processor) to create your labels. These round labels encourage you to create labels that are not text-based, however, so Microsoft Word may not be your first choice of editor. If you're using a graphics editor, you may have to export your graphics to JPEG files, then import those into Microsoft Word, then print them. This can be a big hassle and you may lose image quality if you're not careful.It would be nice if Avery provided templates for popular graphics editors, but I could not find any. Avery apparently does have Adobe-compatible templates for some of their labels, but not for these round ones.Rating: 5 stars if you use Microsoft Word, 3 stars if you use Adobe 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. For professional results By Wayne These labels are of good quality, with the right amount of gloss, to produce labels with a professional appearance. Nothing about these labels will have a homemade look, unless of course you want it that way. Avery offers dozens of templates on their website, allowing you to chose from a multitude of designs.In recent years, Avery has introduced a line of labels with a unique twist. The backing paper can be bent in such a way that peeling off a label is far easier than with traditional labels. That can be a big advantage, especially with mailing labels, but is also handy for labels such as these that you might not remove from the sheet all at once.Although I am very pleased with the product and its outcome, there are certain areas that could be improved. Avery's website now requires registration in order to download patterns. I think that's unnecessary. The patterns are Microsoft Word compatible and allow users to change the text fields. Yet unlike the software that they offer for mailing labels, which allows you to repeat the information for all labels on a page, come up with individual ones, or import data from a file, these patterns require you to update each of the twelve labels separately. If you are making many of the same label, that seems like an unnecessary task. If you are producing more than one design, it still assumes that you are producing a fixed number of any particular design on each page, each time you use a pattern.With their mailing label software, it's easy to make a "one off" label. That's not the case with these, because it would require deleting each field and background in each of the eleven other labels, and assuring that you have filled in the correct label, in order to do so. I could understand a pattern that gets filled in for an entire page, so you can print a large run of them. I could understand the flexibility of allowing each of the labels to be different. But I don't think they came up with a good compromise.Ten sheets is not a lot, but 120 labels is a considerable number. Make sure you test your printing on standard paper to assure that your results are what you want them to be. One nice thing about the label stock is that the sheets are symmetrical so you don't have to worry about which direction is the top or bottom when you feed the paper.All in all, I can't complain about the labels themselves, but Avery has spoiled me with better software in the past. By frisbeegal Had to address envelopes for the wedding, really didn't want to do it by hand, and these labels looked nice enough that I could get over my not-hand-writing-addresses guilt. In fact, they came out much neater than my own writing would have, and took a fraction of the time. This size was perfect, and I only wish they came in a smaller pack in this label size. Easy pop up is very helpful. The only thing to beware of is the template will allow you to write names/addresses that are slightly wider than the actual address labels themselves, so for names/addresses where you use all of the width given to you in the Word template, you may need to use a smaller font or put it over two lines. I use Cook'n Recipe Organizer 9 software to keep a digital copy of my recipes and use these postcards to print them out. It's set up so that all I have to do is click '4x6' and use these. I can chose to print to the top or bottom card and if I need both sides it prompts me to do this. I never write out recipe cards by hand!If you want to use these postcards for something else, go to the Avery website and download their Wizard. All you have to do is put in the Template # and its all set up to go - who wants to waste time fiddling with margins?! I always buy Avery products because I know they are reliable and good quality...and I rely on their Wizard A LOT.I recently switched my recipe card size from 3x5 to 4x6 (yes, I'm getting older and want easier to read) both using Avery products. Labels Don't Fit By Amanda If you have ever used the "Easy Apply" labels in the past, you'll be surprised to learn that Avery redesigned the "Easy Apply" label strips. I'm not sure why they did this, but the new format doesn't fit the actual tabs on the dividers, so you're left with approximately 2 millimeters of excess clear label hanging off the end of the divider. Okay, so you figure you can just stick them on manually, right? Well, that is much more difficult than the old format where you applied each label individually because of the "Easy Strip," which is designed to stick to the "Easy Apply" strip. Goehring These labels work great; I used them with Adobe Illustrator (and the online templates therefor) and had no problems. However, there is a regular 8.5x11 piece of paper in the box with the labels with "label outlines" to use as a test, and, for whatever reason, THAT did not conform well to the template. So when I did a trial run it was rather disappointing, but I just said, "Screw it." And printed a (partial) sheet of labels, which came out perfect. After purchasing some basic off-brand labels which required trimming down in order for them to fit on most packages...these are a god-send! All you do is peel and stick. They work great on both laser and ink-jet, I have printed them out on both types of printers. I primarily use an ink-jet and have not noticed any smudging or bleeding. When printed on a laser, same thing, no smudging or anything. These things dry immediately after they've been printed, so no worries about smudging you're perfectly printed label. I also use [...] to print these labels, and they integrate well in the service. I have also not had any issues with stick-ability, unlike with some off brand labels. If it's the uncut back you want, which is impossible to start but peels off in one full sheet, use product code 30605, Avery Pres-a-ply. For normal people, 5165 is the one to buy. The backing paper on Staples 8.5x11 labels is made with a single cut, which the people in our office find irritating to work with. Having suffered through 100 of those, we returned to the Avery brand and got the 30605's. Ugh! The 30605's are less expensive, but they're cheaper for a reason. Just the right size for regular envelopes, and the look was exactly what we were going for. One suggestion - if you're not using the whole page of labels, and want to use the remaining labels later, take a piece of white paper, and tape it over the labels you are not using. The labels get darker every time you run them through the printer. My printer simply stops printing when it detects the end of the page and spits out the label. I have a feeling this will work for most other printers as well. I would encourage all to try this once. For me, as a result of this technique, not a single label is wasted. I LOVE THEM!!! UPDATE:I got a new printer, a completely different brand and the above technique works like a charm in this one, too. I really think this works on all printers, give it a try! :o) UPDATE! Free Software Makes the Labels Work By Paul Moskowitz Our town's energy committee recently had a project for which we needed about 250 peel-off labels. Our plan was to distribute 250 CFL (compact fluorescent) light bulbs free at our town's community day (sort of like a street fair) in order to encourage people to use the bulbs to reduce electricity use. CFL light bulbs can save about 75 percent on electricity over incandescent bulbs. For the 250 bulbs, we calculated that for 8000 hours of use and an electric cost of $0.10/KWh the total savings vs. 100 watt incandescent bulbs for all the bulbs would be about $15,000. There would also be a saving of 94 tons of carbon dioxide emission. Avery Address Labels were a good choice for adding a label indicating the savings for using the bulbs and our committee's name. The question was how to get the information printed on the labels. At the Avery web site, I found free software, DesignPro, which makes it possible to produce label designs for different label sizes. I downloaded the software easily and got started on the design For the labels, there were about a dozen pre-made templates for the different size labels. I chose the template that matched my labels. Using DesignPro was a little like using PowerPoint. I was able to cut and paste a graphics image, add the appropriate text, and choose a font for the text. A test run on my printer produced a beautiful matrix of labels. The only problem was to find out which side of the label stock had to be up. I can never remember. After an up/down test, I had my sheets of labels printed in no time. Our community day give-away was a big success. Our free light bulbs lasted about four hours. We were able to peel the labels from the printed sheets easily. There was enough time to peel and apply the labels as we gave away the CFLs. One surprise is that we had to have a sales pitch even for give-aways. The other surprise was that many people had never seen CFLs before. I print the labels using an HP Officejet Pro 8500 (inkjet printer) and they work terrific, even if you need to run the same sheet through the printer several times. The ink is always dry upon exiting the printer and never smears from your touch. This to me was one of the real tests when first using the product. There are 20 labels per sheet and the label size itself works well for accommodating lengthy international addressing while using a slightly larger font for easy readability. It was so easy to use the mailings import feature with the product code in Word. We just exported our guest list into excel from on of the wedding websites we used to plan the wedding. Then from excel we imported the list into word and the template for these labels...then just print! They looked great, and since we are on a time crunch printing the addresses and return address was much faster than handwriting all of them! The clear labels looked great against our ivory envelopes! Good Print Quality, Not-So-Easy Peel By Jason Waldman These labels definitely did the job for our "Save the Date" cards that we sent out. The quality of printing was excellent, without any smudging. The labels were very easy to set up in Microsoft Word, although I will warn you to make sure that you figure out which side needs to be up when loading the labels into your printer (I managed to print on the back more than once).My biggest issue with the labels is that, if these are "Easy Peel", I don't want to try the regular peel. Part of it is that the labels are smaller, so it's tough to get a grip in the corners, but part of it is that you can't even tell where the edge is. We actually peeled off part of the backing trying to get the labels off. No big deal, but, if you're expecting these to practically peel themselves off the sheet, think again.One more issue that was mentioned in another review: While these labels are mostly clear, there's a bit of a "frost" to them that you can see on colored envelopes (ours were yellow). They work great, but they DO NOT come off easily once you're ready to reuse the bottle - even with soaking. I gave up on them because the adhesive was TOO sticky. I'm sure they're absolutely great for any other purpose where you need them to stick well. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Perfect for bottle labels By D. Brennan I use these as labels for bottles. It is the perfect size for labeling 12.7 ounce bottles. The positive points are: 1 - They do not jam, bend or otherwise get messed up during the printing cycle. 2 - They peel easily from the sheet, but stick VERY firmly to glass. 3 - They are thick enough so that they can be applied to bottles smoothly with no wrinkles. This is a HUGE advantage over some other types of labels we have tried. 4 - The 5264 template is built in to most major software packages. Setting up the labels for printing was a breeze. The negatives are: Haven't found any yet! One reviewer mentioned that he had problems removing labels once they were applied to bottles. First, that's generally a good thing. The last thing I would want to happen is to have the labels just slide off after getting wet or being subjected to temperature changes. However I tried removing labels for the first time last week and didn't really find it all that hard. What I did was rinse the bottles with hot running water for a couple of minutes. I then places the bottles in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes. The labels peeled right off for the most part. In a couple of cases there was a bit of adhesive left on bottles, but that rubbed off easily enough while the bottle was still hot. My wife actually then used a bit of an environmentally friendly degreaser on a bottle that was not boiled, and that seemed to remove the adhesive easily enough as well. By Alexander Kogan I have used the free installer that came with a CD label Kit -- a round button that clips on the holder after you have put the disc being labeled on it, but the labels didn't always center. I decided to buy this one separately, and it really is better -- far easier to work with, and centers the labels perfectly every time (as long as you remember to put the label on first, upside down, and then press the disc face down on it). It's a small thing, but really is an improvement over the free ones. 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Low cost, low tech, highly functional. By Formattc This product amounts to little more than a low-tech press, but the results are fantastic. I use it to apply glossy, hub-printable labels to dual layer disks since they're not readily available in the inkjet hub printable format off the shelf. The pin in that hold the disk in place is well molded and the perfect size, leaving no lateral play. The labels ALWAYS come out perfectly straight, never off-center. I use a the blank plastic "CD" that comes in spindle packs of CDs and DVDs to press any bubbles out, works great. I highly recommend this product even to those like myself who have CD/DVD printers. It comes in very handy for formats that aren't readily available with an inkjet printable surface. I apply the blank label first and then print the disk in my Canon ip4200 CD/DVD printer. The results are just as good as the prelableled inkjet printable disks, as long as you make sure to work out any bubbles first. Disappointed with large hole By Felicia Wong I have been using Avery DVD labels for our photography business and are pleased with the ease of use and quality of the labels. So when we ran out, I decided to pay more for the Avery brand. I could not find the exact item number of the labels we had been using so I ordered these. When I received them, I realized that these labels have a much larger middle hole than the other version, and I wish this was indicated somehow. It is not a major enough problem for me to return these, but it is an annoyance because it eats into the space I have for images. Also, these labels are made to line up with plastic jewel CD cases. The other version I used but now can no longer find, easily slip of the middle spine in a stack of DVDs, which makes for error-proof alignment. Would recommend for its Avery quality, but other buyers, do take note if the center hole is something of concern. *Oh, another thing: I'm not sure why such a requirement was set on this product, but Amazon told UPS that this is a 'signature required' item. It was annoying because a simple pack of labels could not be left on our porch when we were gone, causing delay in delivery even when I paid for quicker shipping. I guess what added to the irony was that we had expensive camera gear delivered the same day and that package was left behind our screen door, but not the labels. 8 of 10 people found the following review helpful. Avery CD/DVD Labels By Larry These labels work great in my HP inkjet printer. The finish is matte not glossy on the labels. No jams in the printer. The labeling instructions are a little different for these than other Avery labels I have used. After printing the label sheet you remove the label from the sheet with two of the side backing papers still intact. You then align the label on the CD/DVD while it is in a jewel case. Once aligned, it is pressed onto the disc in the middle and the two side backing papers can be removed. After you do one it becomes easier. So-So By TheBeez The design printed very nicely- sharp and crisp- on the paper, but the printer kept jamming because the paper wasn't flat (due to the perforation of the cards). We had something like 10 extra sheets for the amount of cards we wanted to print and in the end had to go buy another pack of paper due to smeared ink related to paper jams. I don't know that there's a better product out there, but beware that you'll need several extra sheets to deal with this issue. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great DIY product By JC I ordered these to make escort cards for a wedding. I've tried other brands and the edges were always ragged and looked cheap. These were clean, pretty much exactly as advertised and they looked great for my use. They are a touch on the thin side for business cards, but as a table top display they are perfect and look really sharp. The Avery wizard is quirky and takes some getting used to, but definitely helps mass produce and can be used to mail merge for a custom job. I've already ordered more. Great product. Hoffman We made name tags for a high school reunion using the team mascot and a simple border. The card stock is good quality so the final results were great, however, we could not figure out how to save the template so it took a lot longer to develop the final product than it should have. We received lots of compliments on the name tags and some requests to share the template. I used Microsoft Word 2007, brought up the corresponding template within Word, and stuck in the images I wanted. I printed out a "test run" on ordinary paper and then lined it up with the magnetic business card sheet to make sure they would come out right. The test run went fine, so I printed the left half of one of the magnetic sheets. Unfortunately, each consecutive image was just a little bit more off from its respective business card than the previous one. The last magnet's image on the page ended up being about 2 millimeters too high, which meant the words at the top of it were cut off/had run over into the previous magnet, and there was a horizontal white bar at the bottom. I suspect that this problem is the result of the magnetic sheet not being flat (the edges of each of the magnetic cards are curled up slightly), causing it to feed into the printer badly. I came to this conclusion because my test run on regular paper came out lined up right. Only purchase this product if you're willing to take the time and make your own template (not to mention, waste multiple magnet sheets in test runs)! 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. The only complaint I had was that you had to feed the magnet paper one sheet at a time because they would stick together and go through all at once. That was an easy fix though. They also didn't provide a template but gave you way to find a template online. We just created our own and that worked well enough. They looked authentic and did work just like a magnet should! White I've used CD Stomper for well over two years and I can attest that it is very easy to use. The software is intuitive and the labels look amazing on the CD (especially if you use the glossy labels with photographic level images.) I am a self proclaimed neat-nick and these labels have really dressed up my audio CD backups, software archive discs and DVD discs. Until recently I have been a devoted CD Stomper user and advocate. BEWARE! The glossy labels will warp the disc over time. I've never used the thinner, matte labels so have no experience with them or their archival quality. I went to view a DVD archive that I had labeled about 18 months ago and the discs are warped beyond usability. Thinking it must be inferior media (Datawrite brand) I started to check my archived discs and older audio CDs. The media brands of these other discs include: Maxell, Memorex, Philips, Sony, and Verbatim. They all are exhibiting the warping to varying degrees all based on age. The longer the label is affixed to the disc, the more it will warp it. When pealing a label off the backing before it is applied you will notice an extreme curve toward the printed side. Who would guess that a piece of paper could exert enough force to bend a plastic CD? 35 of 37 people found the following review helpful. Get the Professional look for pennies on the dollar! By D. Fox This is the only way to go if you want professional looking CD labels. Whether you're using them just for fun with your personal CD collection or you're producing professional products for sale, this is the right product for you! Despite some other reviews, this product does NOT warp discs! You must use common sense when using products! This kit comes with a base (the stomper) and you just place the label sticky side up on the base and place the CD onto the label. You don't have to use force to apply the label. Following these guidelines will produce perfectly centered labels every time! However, if you apply a great deal of force when applying the label, you should probably expect some damage to your disc. Once again, use common sense. This is a simple product, so just follow the directions without adding your own, and you'll be fine! I use this product to label CDs of audio sermons at my church. It works great! You can use any photo you have or will take, or you can use one of the many photos that come with the kit. The software only took me about fifteen minutes to become familiar with. Once I had that down, the only thing left was having fun with the designs. This software has limitless possibilities, and I really enjoy the feature that lets you add ANY photo as a background for a label! Whatever your task, this product will give you the WOW effect! Now that I've ventured out and bought a CD/DVD labelmaker, I'm stunned at the results! It's very simple to follow the instructions given, or just trying things out 'trial and error'. Nothing's simpler than just putting in an image either you've made or a CD/DVD label you download online, then you press print and stick the label on the applicator and press! Viola - instant labels! The only thing I've found is that all the labels included are matte/paper quality, anything more than that like glossy/photo quality is very expensive! Matte quality is standard and decent enough. I recommend having at least a good inkjet printer if you're going to print photos on the labels, they do soak up ink! I use them for identification of people in workshop environments. The cards are big, and allow large names (and smaller sized) titles to be printed. The cards aren't real thick, but ometimes they stick in my printer, but not too often.
